This promotional competition is organised by Foschini Retail Group (Pty) Ltd (registration number 1988/007302/07) (“TFG”). This competition will only take place at (i) Gateway Mall, (ii) Century City and (iii) Mall of Africa (referred to as the “Participating Destinations”).
In these rules, “Promoter” means a person who directly or indirectly promotes, sponsors, organises or conducts the promotional competition, or for whose benefit the promotional competition is promoted, sponsored, organised or conducted, which includes TFG.
No director, member, partner, employee, agent of, or consultant to the Promoter or any other person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by the Promoter, their advertising agencies, or their spouses, life partners, parents, children, brothers, sisters, business partners or associates, may enter this promotional competition. This also applies to a person who is a supplier of goods or services in connection with this promotional competition.
All participants must be at least 18 years old at the time of entering the competition and must reside in South Africa.
The Promoter reserves the right to vary, postpone, suspend or cancel the promotional competition, any aspect of the promotional competition and anything related thereto, without notice at any time and for any reason whatsoever that the Promoter deems is reasonable at the time. Should the Promoter, law or any authority cancel this promotional competition, no notice of cancellation shall be required. In such event, all participants and winners waive any rights and acknowledge that they shall have no claim, of any nature whatsoever against the Promoter, its directors, agents or employees as a result of the cancellation.
By entering the promotional competition, participants agree and understand that they may win a prize, but there is no guarantee that they will win a prize.
To qualify for a promotional competition entry, participants must:
swipe their TFG Rewards cards when making purchases in-store at TFG stores at Participating Destinations. There is no minimum spend and participants may enter as frequently as they wish;
present the relevant till slip at the mall activation section at the Participating Destinations;
once a valid slip is presented at the mall activation section at the Participating Destinations, participant may elect to play one of the following games where they stand a chance to win an Instant Prize:
7.3.1. The participant may then select any two (2) activities from the list of available games below and may also participate in the Photo Moment experience.
7.3.2. Each activity may only be attempted once per valid till slip unless otherwise communicated by the Promoter.
7.3.3. Participation in the activities does not guarantee a prize. Instant Prizes are awarded only where the participant successfully completes the activity as described and subject to stock availability.
Activity 1: Speed Wrapping Sprint: Participants will have 30 seconds to wrap a gift item. Participants may use their own gift or a box supplied by the Promoter. Participants who successfully complete the wrapping within the allocated time will receive an Instant Prize. Once completed, participants may proceed to their next chosen activity.
Activity 2: Memory Match Marathon: Participants will be given 30 seconds to open each of the compartments and memorise the prize/item behind each door. Participants will then have a further 30 seconds to match each item to the correct compartment. The activity ends immediately if the participant makes an incorrect selection. Participants who correctly match all nine (9) items will receive an Instant Prize.
Activity 3: Cart Shot Challenge: Participants will have 30 seconds to shoot and successfully score three (3) hacky sacks into three (3) different baskets. Participants who successfully land all three shots will receive an Instant Prize.
Activity 4: Bag Beast Lifts: This activity will be supervised by a Brand Ambassador using a stopwatch. Participants will have 30 seconds to complete ten (10) deadlifts using weighted bags provided at the activation. Participants who successfully complete all required lifts within the time limit will receive an Instant Prize.
Activity 5: Photo Moment: The final station is the Photo Moment, which includes:
(a)one (1) trolley with door entry;
(b) three (3) giant purple presents;
(c) one (1) photo operator;
(d) one (1) selfie camera mechanism; and
(e) onsite Brand Ambassadors.Brand Ambassadors may encourage participants to share their photo on social media and tag @tfgrewards and @fnbsa, using the campaign hashtag #BagTheBucks, which will serve as an entry into the online competition (where applicable).
How the Photo Moment Works: Trained attendants will oversee the setup and manage the station for the duration of the event. Participants will follow the on-screen instructions displayed on the device. To begin, the participant will press the “Play” button. Participants may select a digital prop (optional), after which an on-screen countdown will appear before the image is captured. Participants may apply a digital filter to their image and will then be prompted to enter an email address or mobile number to receive their image via a download link. Participants may also print their photo onsite and collect it directly from the printer.
There will be 5026 (five thousand twenty-six) instant prize winners (“Instant Prize Winners”) that stand a chance of winning one/or more of the following instant prizes after successfully completing the relevant game(s) that may be set out in clause 7 above. The instant prizes are as follows:
The winners cannot choose the prize(s) – it will be awarded at the Promoter’s sole discretion.
The Promoter and its sponsors do not accept any responsibility for any entries or prizes that are lost, damaged, unusable or delayed.
The winners will not be entitled to payment, credit or otherwise in the event that they do not claim or utilise the prize to the fullest extent possible.
The prize is not transferable and may not be deferred or exchanged for cash, credit or otherwise.
If any taxes, levies, duties or any charges whatsoever are levied on a prize by any competent authority, the winners will be liable for these, and the prize value will not be increased to compensate for such charges.
To the extent that a licence (e.g. driver’s licence), proof of identification or permission (e.g. by a parent/guardian) is required in order to accept or use a prize, the winners must produce such licence, identification and/or permission for inspection by the Promoter prior to receiving the prize. If winners do not or are unable to do so, the prize will be forfeited, and another winner will be drawn under the same terms and conditions (for that specific prize).
This promotional competition will start on 01 December 2025 and end at 23h59 on 23 December 2025 (the “Closing Date”). No late entries will be accepted.
The respective winners will be notified after winning the relevant game selected by the winner. If the participant does not win the relevant game, that participant will not be entitled to an Instant Prize.
The Promoter reserves the right to remove any posts or entries on social media that it deems spam; offensive; political; not in line with the community guidelines of the relevant social media channel; not in line with the Promoter’s values or an infringement of a third party’s intellectual property.
By entering this promotional competition and as condition to receive the prize, participants:
consent to the processing of their personal information (including their images, voice and other information that may be captured by the Promotor during the competition, particularly if the participant wins and plays the relevant games to win Instant Prizes (note – TFG may record, photograph and take videos of the relevant winners) by the Promoter(s) and its service providers, but only insofar that it is necessary to give effect to the promotional competition, for example to view the entries, select and announce the winners and deliver the prizes. The winners will be given the opportunity to consent to further processing of their personal information;
waive their moral rights and grant the Promoter exclusive, unlimited, perpetual and free of charge copyright and usage (in any territory where the Promoter trades), in all media forms of all material, text and intellectual property created and/or published/posted by the participants in the submission of their competition entry. The Promoter will be entitled to use and edit the intellectual property in any manner and in its sole discretion, for an indefinite period of time and in any territory where it trades. Participants will not during or after the closing date of the promotional competition dispute or question the copyright and usage by the Promoter;
waive any right to demand royalties, usage fees or any other form of compensation or payment for the use of intellectual property in the participant’s entry; and
should they be selected as winners, agree to sign an acknowledgment of receipt form in exchange for the prize as well as a relevant indemnity form prior to taking part in playing the relevant game to win an Instant Prize.
By accepting a prize or by entering this promotional competition, participants hereby indemnify the Promoter and the relevant social media channels against any damage or losses of any nature whatsoever that the participants may suffer arising from this promotional competition and the prizes, including consequential damages and economic loss.
The winners may be requested to endorse, promote and advertise any of the goods and services of the Promoter and will not unreasonably withhold their consent.
Participants will be deemed to have accepted these promotional competition rules by entering the promotional competition. Failure to comply with these rules, or the terms of acceptance of a prize will be deemed to be a rejection of the prize and the winners will then be disqualified from receiving the prize.
The Promoter reserves the right to photograph, film and publicly share Mall Activation content on its official social media channels for promotional purposes.
