Why am I not getting an OTP when trying to reset my password?

Don't worry, it can sometimes take up to 5 minutes.

If you still haven't received it after that, try these steps before requesting another one-time PIN (OTP):

  • Be sure that you've entered the email address or mobile number that you use to log into your Bash profile.
  • Check that you've typed in your email address or mobile number correctly.
  • Note that we only send OTPs to email addresses and South African mobile numbers.
  • Check your junk/spam folder - add Bash to your saved contacts to prevent this in future.
  • It could be a device/carrier issue. Please restart your phone and make sure it's connected to the network.

Has your email or mobile number that is linked to your online profile changed and this is why you can't receive the one-time PIN? Read related help article.

Psst! ? Did you know that load shedding can also affect the delivery of OTPs? If you think that's the case, try again later when the power is back on.
