Why am I not getting an OTP when trying to reset my password?

Modified on Fri, 27 Sep at 9:25 AM

Receiving an OTP can sometimes take up to 5 minutes.

If you still haven't received it after that, try these steps:

  • Double-check that you've entered the correct email address or mobile number that you use to log into Bash.
  • Note that we only send OTPs South African mobile numbers.
  • If you choose to receive an OTP via email, check your junk/spam folder. Add Bash to your saved contacts to prevent this in future.
  • It could be a device or carrier issue. Restart your phone and make sure it's connected to the network.

We suggest attempting the above steps before requesting another one-time PIN (OTP).

If the email or mobile number linked to your Bash profile changed, this may be why you haven't received the OTP. Read this related help article for further assistance.

Loadshedding can also affect the delivery of OTPs. If your power's out, try again when the power is back on.
